Site Reliability Engineer – Contract (Hybrid)

STAND 8 Technology Consulting invites a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to design, build, and maintain reliable, scalable, and high‑performance systems. This hybrid role is based in New York, NY, with onsite work 4 days per week.

Hourly range: $73.00/hr – $83.00/hr (base Pay Range). Individual pay is determined by work location, experience, and relevant skills.

New York, NY – Hybrid (4 days onsite). Remote work is not an option for this contract position.

• Design, build, and maintain reliable, scalable, and high‑performance systems in Kubernetes‑based environments.
• Develop and maintain production‑quality code to enhance automation, observability, and system resilience.
• Collaborate with software engineering teams to ensure services are architected for reliability and scalability.
• Implement and drive best practices for monitoring, alerting, CI/CD pipelines, and incident response.
• Partner with developers to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve performance, availability, and scalability issues.

• Strong background in software engineering with experience writing and maintaining production‑grade code.
• Experience with full‑stack development and a strong interest in reliability, scalability, and operations.
• Hands‑on experience working within Kubernetes and containerized environments.
• Experience with at least one modern programming language such as Golang, Python, Java, Rust, or similar.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and a passion for building reliable systems at scale.
• Preferred:
  Experience contributing to open‑source projects or maintaining personal technical projects.
• Familiarity with cloud‑native architectures and modern Dev Ops practices.
• Exposure to CI/CD tooling and automated testing strategies.
