Akkodis is seeking a Network SME Engineer for a 6-month contract role with a client in New York City, NY (3 days/week onsite).

To be considered, candidates must have deep hands-on expertise in enterprise networking
, including routing, switching, IPv6, Cisco/Arista platforms, and advanced troubleshooting experience. This role requires a Cisco CCIE Lab certification and the ability to design, engineer, and support complex network solutions across campus, data center, and cloud environments.

Pay Range: $77/hr to $79/hr on W2 (The pay rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.)

• Develop networking solutions across Campus, Data Center, and Cloud environments using IPv4 and IPv
  6.
• Identify communication scenarios between end devices, edge devices, and network infrastructure.
• Create, execute, and support testing around data gathering, aggregation, analytics, and device connectivity.
• Provide expert-level troubleshooting in complex BGP, OSPF, routing, switching
  , and migration scenarios.
• Participate in and support major network migration and integration efforts.
• Deliver SME-level guidance on routing, switching, multicast, overlays, and infrastructure optimization.

• Minimum 10+ years of experience in enterprise network engineering roles.
• Strong expertise in Routing & Switching
  , Cloud networking, and IPv6
  .
• Excellent knowledge of BGP, OSPF, Spanning Tree (STP), and Multicast technologies.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco routing platforms (
  ISR, ASR1K, ASR9K
  ) and switching platforms (
  Catalyst 9K, Nexus 9K
  ).
• Experience with multicast:
  IGMPv2/v3, PIM, Static RP, Anycast RP
  .
• Experience with overlay technologies:
  IPSEC, DMVPN, VXLAN
  .
• Knowledge of cabling & optics (10G/25G/40G/50G/100G), breakout cables, and breakout panels.
• Experience with Arista platforms.
• Ansible knowledge is a strong plus.
• Experience troubleshooting IoT device/sensor connectivity issues.
• Understanding of core infrastructure components such as Cisco ISE, TACACS, DNS/DHCP
  .
• Mandatory: Cisco CCIE Lab Certification (Routing & Switching or Service Provider).
