As a Senior Solutions Engineer within the Advertisers and Agencies team, you will be a technical anchor in driving excellence and strategic value for our media buyer clients. You will lead complex solution design, audience activation strategies, and cross‑functional collaboration to ensure successful onboarding, optimization, and long‑term success of advertiser and agency partnerships. This role requires deep expertise in programmatic advertising, demand‑side technologies (DSP), troubleshooting, and audience data solutions.
You will serve as a trusted technical advisor to clients and internal stakeholders, influencing product development and delivering scalable solutions that meet evolving market needs.
- Serve as the technical lead during prospect and client engagements: discovery, scoping, proof‑of‑concept, and RFP/RFI responses.
- Design end‑to‑end solutions using Pub Matic’s buyer stack (bidder, API, audience, identity, reporting, log‑level data) aligned with client goals (reach, targeting, optimization, attribution).
- Conduct POCs, validate hypotheses, and align expectations in collaboration with Product & Engineering.
- Lead the technical integration (post‑sales): data onboarding, API integration, log‑level data setup, pixel configuration.
- Collaborate with the Addressability team for new DMP integration, clean‑room setup, and graph matching.
- Own troubleshooting and resolve complex issues with campaign delivery, data availability, targeting, etc.
- Monitor performance and ensure health of the campaign via reporting, network dashboard, Looker, etc.
- Be a champion for clients’ needs internally—participate in product planning, testing, and release reviews.
- Translate client challenges into product requirements, user stories, and technical specs.
- Collaborate with engineering on tooling, automation, internal platforms, and efficiency improvements.
- Train and mentor junior solution engineers and support scaling of best practices.
- Act as a trusted technical advisor to advertiser and agency leads, gaining credibility via subject‑matter expertise.
- Help the sales team shape opportunities, propose upsell paths, and defend solution direction.
- Create internal and external technical content—playbooks, whitepapers, internal trainings.
- 5+ years of DSP and AdTech experience, ideally in a client‑facing technical role (solutions, pre‑sales, technical consulting) interfacing with agencies and advertisers.
- Deep understanding of programmatic advertising (DSPs, RTB, auction logic, supply path, bid shading).
- Experience with audience activation, data onboarding, identity resolution, DMPs, CDPs, and data ecosystems.
- Exposure to CTV/OTT, mobile SDKs, and omnichannel (web + mobile + connected environments) is a big plus.
- Strong foundational knowledge: HTTP, RESTful APIs, JavaScript, JSON, XML, web protocols, and ad‑tech standards (VAST, VPAID, OpenRTB, cookie sync, etc.), privacy compliance (GDPR, CCPA, etc.).
- Comfortable working in Unix/Linux environments; scripting experience (Python, Shell/Bash, Node.js, etc.) is a plus.
- SQL fluency and ability to analyze datasets, detect anomalies, and define metrics.
- Ability to read and interpret logs, metrics dashboards, and debugging output.
- Excellent communicator: can translate complex technical stories into business outcomes for non‑technical stakeholders.
- Strong analytical thinking, pattern recognition, and problem‑solving aptitude.
- Self‑starter with ability to manage multiple projects concurrently in a fast‑paced environment.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and driving clarity.
- Mentorship mindset: willing to train, coach, and elevate more junior contributors.
- Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field.
- Experience at a mid‑to‑large‑scale AdTech company or an agency/advertiser doing advanced programmatic work.
- Understanding of identity privacy frameworks (e.g., GDPR, CCPA,…
