A rapidly growing fintech trading platform is seeking a Director of Futures Operations to lead post-trade processing, clearing, and operational strategy across global futures markets. This is a high-impact role for someone who knows the mechanics of listed derivatives cold—clearing, margining, reconciliations, exchange interaction—and can pair that expertise with a tech-forward mindset.
You’ll oversee the build-out and optimization of the firm’s futures infrastructure, working across technology, risk, and trading to ensure operational excellence as the business scales. The right person will bring deep product knowledge, a process-engineering mentality, and a bias toward automation.
What You’ll DoLead and manage the Futures Operations team
, responsible for trade capture, clearing, reconciliations, and lifecycle management.Oversee daily clearing, margin, and position management across global exchanges and clearinghouses.
Design and enhance operational workflows, controls, and exception management processes for speed and accuracy.
Partner with engineering teams to automate reconciliation, reporting, and margin monitoring systems.
Interface directly with brokers, FCMs, exchanges, and custodians to ensure trade integrity and timely settlement.
Collaborate with trading, risk, compliance, and product teams to support new market access and product launches.
Monitor operational risk, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies.
Drive process improvement, automation, and straight-through processing (STP) initiatives across the futures lifecycle.
Lead internal and external audits, regulatory reviews, and technology integrations.
Provide mentorship and leadership to the operations team, fostering a culture of accountability and precision.
10+ years of experience in futures or listed derivatives operations within a bank, broker, exchange, or fintech.
Deep understanding of trade lifecycle, clearing, margin, and exchange connectivity.
Proven ability to build and scale operations processes and controls in a high-growth environment.
Hands‑on familiarity with exchange platforms (CME, ICE, Eurex, etc.) and FCM relationships.
Strong working knowledge of regulatory frameworks (CFTC, NFA, MiFID, etc.).
Technical literacy and comfort collaborating with developers—experience with SQL, Python, or workflow automation tools a plus.
Exceptional communication and leadership skills with a track record of managing high‑performing teams.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
