Tomorrow Lab is a 15‑year‑old hardware innovation studio in Brooklyn, NY that partners with startups and established companies to invent, prototype, and deliver manufacturable technology products. This short‑term, high‑impact role supports late‑stage build, validation, and manufacturing readiness, allowing you to step into a mature codebase and take technical ownership.

- Hourly Range: $150 – $225, depending on experience and skill set
- Contract role, 50–70 hours/month
- Initial 2‑month commitment, with potential month‑to‑month extension (up to 4 months total)
- Target start: ASAP to early February (within 2–3 weeks)
- Lead firmware execution on a late‑stage hardware program
- Work within an existing Zephyr‑based firmware stack for LTE & BLE devices (nRF
54L15, nRF
9151) - Support security implementation, including Secure Boot and FOTA
- Collaborate closely with Tomorrow Lab partners, project managers, and external freelancers
- Maintain thorough documentation and provide consistent progress updates
- 8+ years of relevant firmware or embedded systems experience
- BS/BE in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred (not required)
- Experience designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting electronic systems
- Hardware experience is a plus
- Technical writing experience is a plus
- Must currently reside in the NYC area and be willing to travel to our Brooklyn office as needed
