- Monthly collection, preprocessing, and analysis of all cost and usage data for Hearst companies across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
- Lead monthly business reviews with Hearst‑owned companies to ensure teams fully understand their cloud consumption and explore optimization options.
- Maintain strong working relationships with Dev Ops, architecture, product management, development, and support teams to deliver services to customers.
- Develop and maintain dashboards that provide visibility into cloud spend and trends for technical, financial, and executive audiences.
- Configure and enhance Hearst’s cloud cost‑management platform and conduct ad‑hoc cost analyses as needed.
- Align with and support Hearst cloud‑migration efforts through the creation of business cases and cloud‑cost estimates.
- Implement Fin Ops best practices, standards, and automation.
- Analyze large datasets to discover trends and patterns.
- Present information using effective data visualization techniques.
- Collaborate with engineering and product development teams.
- Support a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for improved automation and communicating findings to relevant teams.
- 2+ years of hands‑on experience in cloud financial management, cloud operations, and data analysis, including cost‑exploration and optimization tools.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills; ability to explain complex concepts to non‑technical audiences.
- Strong analytical and spreadsheet skills; proficiency in data mining to extract insights and identify correlations.
- In-depth knowledge of public cloud services and costs for at least one of AWS, Azure, or GCP (certifications preferred).
- Self‑starter mindset with the ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
- Experience working on large‑scale, enterprise projects.
- Experience using Generative AI to enhance personal efficiency and productivity.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and complex formulas.
- Knowledge of Fin Ops principles (Fin Ops Foundation certification a plus).
- Experience with BI tools such as Power
BI or Tableau. - Problem‑solving mindset.
- Strong statistics and algebra skills.
- Ability to build predictive models and machine‑learning algorithms.
- Proficiency in one or more scripting or programming languages: R, SQL, Python, Scala, Java, C++, Ruby, Power Shell, Go.
- BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or relevant industry experience.
- Cloud certifications preferred.
- Fin Ops certification preferred.
In accordance with applicable law, Hearst is required to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role if hired in New York City. The reasonable estimate is $85,000 – $115,000. If hired outside New York City, the salary range will align with that specific location.
