We’re looking for a lead/senior product designer who is excited to help shape the future of small business transitions. At Baton you’ll own key elements of the product experience for buyers and sellers across our platform. You’ll take the lead on design initiatives, turning complex problems and sometimes fuzzy requirements into thoughtful and intuitive experiences. You’ll be a key voice on cross‑functional teams, helping define product vision, advocating for the user, and delivering well‑crafted work from concept to launch.
What You’ll DoBe the voice of the customer and champion solving user problems.
Shape how AI enhances core user experiences—from smarter search and listing discovery to accelerating our design and prototyping workflows.
Grow to own key flows like onboarding, listing pages, and more.
Collaborate with stakeholders and engineers to define requirements and align product decisions with user needs and business goals.
Think systematically to make experiences as scalable as they are elegant and delightful.
Identify future opportunities and work as a key thought partner with your counterparts in product, engineering, and operations.
Lead through craft:
Model how to balance speed, polish, and pragmatism in a fast‑moving environment.Drive impact through automation, work to move manual processes into automation through integration with the platform.
Facilitate or participate in collaborative workshops to generate and validate ideas and be open to feedback and critique.
Conduct competitive analysis and UX research to better understand our customers' needs when needed.
Advance the state of design practice:
Raise the bar for craft and usability across Baton. Introduce new design methodologies, tools (including AI‑powered ones), and practices that evolve how we prototype, validate, and ship at scale.
5-7+ years of product experience (or equivalent).
A portfolio that shows thoughtful, impactful design work.
Mastery of UX fundamentals, interface design, and visual design principles.
Fluency in Figma and experience in prototyping ideas quickly.
Great attention to detail and a strong eye for visual craft, such as composition, typography, and layout.
No task is below you, and you’re willing to step in to fill the gaps between teams to get the job done, whether it’s performing qualitative research, helping prepare pitch decks, or improving our marketing site.
Comfortable operating in fast‑paced, ambiguous environments with cross functional collaboration to ensure both functional clarity.
Solid understanding of how to build, maintain and use design systems.
Understanding of accessibility and responsive design.
