The Business Strategy and Innovation Team is looking for an experienced business analyst to serve as the business partner for the firm’s Portfolio & Wealth Advisory team, supporting the Chief Operating Officers of Wealth Advisory to drive the success of the team’s technology initiatives. This hands-on role involves comprehensive relationship management, complex problem-solving, and delivering valuable business solutions.

The ideal candidate will display a proven track record of partnering with business groups, gaining a deep understanding of their processes, identifying ways in which technology can provide business benefit, and ultimately delivering holistic, impactful solutions to meet a variety of business challenges.

The individual will function as the main interface between Portfolio & Wealth Advisory stakeholders and technical teams driving and managing the successful execution of key projects. The role requires the ability to mobilize cross-functional teams towards agreed upon goals and will be accountable for reporting progress on their portfolio of initiatives on a continual basis.

The right candidate will have a demonstrable history as an effective leader who appreciates teamwork, cross-departmental collaboration, and a positive work atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategy and Planning:
    Demonstrate a deep understanding of firm-wide processes and systems and the ability to gain an understanding of Portfolio & Wealth Advisory business processes, data needs, and system use. Work in close collaboration with the business to comprehend their strategy, processes, services, roadmap, and operational context to provide strategic analysis services.
  • Requirements Gathering:
    Analyze business issues, processes, and systems thoroughly to identify areas for optimization. Work with Portfolio & Wealth Advisory leadership and business users to gather requirements, helping them to define needs, challenge assumptions and refine details. Prioritize requirements and produce effective documentation for stakeholders and developers that creates a common understanding of complex issues. Collaborate with IT teams to align business requirements with technical solutions.

    Lead integration and user acceptance testing, resolving issues pragmatically and promptly, and continually evaluate and adjust approved solutions to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Project Delivery:
    Drive and manage the successful execution of key projects. In collaboration with internal Project Manager, create detailed project plans, requirements documentation, necessary training materials, support materials, and develop, execute, and continually improve test plans and processes to ensure successful delivery.
  • Stakeholder Management:
    Build productive relationships with key Portfolio & Wealth Advisory business stakeholders, sponsors, technology colleagues, and technology vendors. Effectively communicate complex concepts to diverse stakeholders and manage their expectations regarding project goals and deliverables.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting:
    Leverage and interpret complex data sets to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree and 5-7 years of Business Analyst experience within the financial sector.
  • Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in software development, SDLC, Agile, and Waterfall project management methodologies.
