DESKTOP/LAN ENGINEER – ROCHESTER, NY

Dox Electronics Inc. is looking to add a Desktop LAN Engineer to our team.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing Level I and Level II help‑desk support to employees that work from the office as well as from home or other remote locations. This is a support position in which you will work with a multitude of clients in all different industries. Every day is a different experience!

  • Paid vacations and holidays Position Responsibilities include but not limited to:
    • Keep systems up-to-date through operating systems upgrades.
    • Assist with the design, implementation, and ongoing support of new software and features.
    • Oversee troubleshooting for system errors.
    • Provide help desk support for day to day issues.
    • Provide support either by phone, remote access or site visits as needed.
    • Respond to IT issues; hardware maintenance, software, networking, etc.
    • Evaluate connectivity issues, equipment, and software.
    • Modify configurations, utilities, software, etc.
    • Set up equipment for new users.
    • Perform data backups.
    • Other responsibilities that may be assigned
    Skills and Experience:
    • A+ Certifications
    • Microsoft Certifications
    • Office 365 use and deployment
    • GCC High use and deployment
    • Experience with Azure Gov.
    • Working Knowledge of:
      • Microsoft Windows Operating System versions
      • Printer drivers and configuration
      • Common third‑party Applications i.e. Adobe, print drivers
      • Desktop WiFi troubleshooting
      • Citrix Xen Desktop a plus
      • Virtual Environments such as VMware and Hyper‑V
    • Other Professional

      Skills:
      • Articulate communicator, fluent in English with excellent listening skills
      • Self‑motivated and ambitious
      • Great written and oral skills
      • A team player who isn't a clock watcher
      • Must be detail oriented, precise, and accurate
      • Excellent skills in maintaining relationships with clients and other external parties
    • Physical Demands:
      • Normal demands associated with an office environment.
      • Ability to work on computer for long periods.
      • Ability to communicate with individuals by telephone, email and face‑to‑face.
      • Some travel may be required.
