Senior Dev Ops Engineer

As a Senior Dev Ops Engineer, you will be a part of Bayer's Pharma Data & AI Team and optimize the commercial data platform’s Dev Ops tooling and operations. Your focus will be on driving best development practices, managing automation and testing environments, and collaborating with teams to implement secure, reliable CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure. Your work ensures the stability, security, and efficiency of software or data pipeline development and deployment.

• Design & develop scalable, reliable, and secure infrastructure on the AWS cloud platform.
• Design & develop infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, containerization, and orchestration using tools such as Terraform, Kubernetes, and Docker.
• Design, develop and manage CI/CD pipelines using Github Actions to enable seamless deployment of applications and services.
• Lead the implementation of automated testing and continuous integration processes to ensure code quality and reliability.
• Lead the design, setup and configuration of monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to ensure the health and performance of applications and infrastructure.
• Collaborate with data product Dev Ops teams to understand their needs and provide Dev Ops platform support as required.
• Advocate for and implement Dev Ops best practices within the organization.
• Ensure infrastructure and application security by implementing best practices and compliance standards into the developer tool portfolio and CI/CD pipelines.
• Lead the troubleshooting and resolution of infrastructure and application incidents to ensure stable operations and business continuity.
• Identify and pursue opportunities for self-improvement of technical and non-technical skills.
• Take the initiative to do what needs to be done without being asked.
• Articulate and advocate new cloud technical and non-technical ideas within the team.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related field.
• 5+ years experience as a Dev Ops engineer or similar role.
• Excellent proficiency with the AWS cloud platform focusing on infrastructure as code and CI/CD automation using Git Hub, Actions and Terraform.
• Good knowledge in Kubernetes / Docker development and operations with focus on AWS Elastic Kubernetes Service and AWS Elastic Container Service.
• Good knowledge in security concept with focus on operations of Hashicorp Vault, AWS Secrets Manager and using OpenID Connect using Microsoft Entra  authentication and authorization.
• Basic knowledge in designing, developing and operating streaming data integration using technologies like Kafka and AWS Kinesis.
• Excellent knowledge in orchestrating AWS cloud services using AWS Step Functions, AWS Simple Queue Service and Apache Airflow.
• Excellent experience using cloud monitoring solutions like AWS Cloud Watch, Grafana, or Open Telemetry.
• Good familiarity with Python, JavaScript (Node.js), Bash/Shell, and working with data formats such as YAML and JSON, including Docker file creation.
• Basic experience with serverless architectures using AWS Lambda and the Serverless Framework.
• Expert understanding of databases and data storage solutions, including AWS Simple Storage Service (S3), AWS Dynamo
  
  DB, and AWS RDS (MySQL, Postgre
  
  SQL, Aurora Serverless).
• Good familiarity with data processing technologies such as AWS Glue and AWS App Flow, as well as authentication solutions like AWS Cognito.
