Position Overview
Empire State Development is seeking an Information Technology Trainer to deliver hands‑on training for various software applications, information systems, and hardware resources used within the organization. The role requires in‑office presence with hybrid options based on duties and ESD policy.
Pay Range: $80,000.00 / yr – $90,000.00 / yr.
Responsibilities- Design and deliver IT training programs for diverse audiences.
- Develop and maintain up‑to‑date instructional materials (manuals, tutorials, FAQs).
- Set up training environments, including necessary equipment and software.
- Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non‑technical users.
- Collaborate with IT staff and subject‑matter experts to validate and enhance content.
- Align training with organizational goals, compliance requirements, and industry trends.
- Serve as liaison among end users, leadership, and IT teams.
- Represent user voice by collecting and communicating feedback.
- Evaluate training effectiveness and adjust approaches as needed.
- Identify and assist in troubleshooting user‑defined problems.
- Ensure work is completed within IT policy guidelines.
- Assist with ESD Disaster Recovery efforts, testing, and documentation.
- Perform other related duties and projects as directed by IT Management.
- Position expected to work onsite and/or remotely consistent with NYS and ESD guidelines and needs.

- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or IT-related field; or a 2‑year degree with a minimum of 5 years’ experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. - Experience:
3‑5 years of instructional design experience and proven success delivering workplace‑based IT training to adult learners with diverse technical skill levels. - Strong written and verbal communication skills, and proficiency with Microsoft O365 applications.
- Excellent customer‑service orientation and strong interpersonal skills.
- Certifications preferred.
