Position: Workday Payroll Processor
Client: Banking
Location: New York, NY 10178
Duration: 2 months + contract possible (Right to Hire)
Work Schedule: Hybrid – 3 days onsite / 2 days remote per week
Main
Skills:
Workday HCM, Workday Financials (familiarity preferred), general accounting principles (general ledgers, journal bookings), and payroll processing.
Processing employee payroll by collecting and verifying time‑keeping data, calculating wages, deductions, and taxes, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, and resolving payroll discrepancies while maintaining confidentiality and detailed records.
Responsibilities- Collect, review, and validate employee timecards, attendance, and pay data.
- Process payroll on a bi‑weekly basis with accuracy and timeliness.
- Calculate wages, overtime, bonuses, commissions, and deductions (taxes, benefits, garnishments).
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and company policies.
- Maintain and update employee payroll records (new hires, terminations, pay changes).
- Resolve payroll discrepancies and respond to employee payroll inquiries.
- Process direct deposits, checks, and payroll adjustments or corrections.
- Prepare payroll reports for accounting, finance, and management.
- Coordinate with HR and benefits teams on deductions, benefits, and employee changes.
- Must have experience with the Workday payroll application.
- Experience with Workday HCM is required; familiarity with Workday Financials is a plus.
- Knowledge of general financial accounting principles (general ledgers, journal bookings) preferred.
- Deep experience in running/processing payroll; meticulous, deadline‑driven, and committed to accurate work.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
Pay Range: $40.00/hr – $50.00/hr (actual pay based on skills and experience, discuss with recruiter).
