Regulatory Compliance Specialist, Talent Manager, Employee Relations
Location: New York
The D.E.Shaw group seeks a proactive and highly organized individual to join its Benefits team for a six-month limited-term assignment. This position offers the opportunity to support the firm’s benefits programs, foster a positive employee experience, and collaborate with a global team of human capital professionals in a dynamic, collegial work environment.
What you’ll do day-to-day- Administer day-to-day benefits programs, including answering employee questions about coverage, enrollment, and procedures.
- Oversee and coordinate employee wellness activities.
- Manage 401(k) plan governance, audits, and related administrative processes.
- Draft and deliver benefits-related employee communications.
- Conduct ongoing audits to ensure data accuracy across the benefits system and vendor platforms.
- Assist with U.S. and international benefits renewals and enrollment processes for new hires, dependent changes, and qualifying life events.
- Maintain and manage benefits-related data and workflows within the Human Resources Information System (HRIS).
- A bachelor’s degree in any field of study and at least two years of experience in employee benefits or human capital management.
- Excellent record of academic and professional achievement.
- Proven experience managing multiple, competing priorities in a fast-paced environment, and anticipating downstream issues.
- Ability to communicate effectively and build relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Excel is required and experience with HRIS maintenance and reporting is preferred;
Workday experience is a decided plus but is not required. - The ability to exercise the utmost discretion while working with highly confidential information is a must.
- Exceptional attention to detail, sound judgment, and a problem‑solving and service‑minded approach.
The expected annual base salary for this position is $120,000 to $150,000. Our compensation and benefits package includes variable compensation in the form of a completion bonus, and benefits including medical and prescription drug coverage, 401(k) contribution matching, wellness reimbursement, family building benefits, and a charitable gift match program.
