Employee Relations, Regulatory Compliance Specialist
Sinclair Construction Management is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Human Resources Generalist to join our team as our first dedicated HR hire. This is an exciting opportunity for an entry to mid-level HR professional who wants to build and shape the HR function from the ground up in a growing construction management company.
You will own and manage the day-to-day HR operations and support the full employee lifecycle, including benefits administration, recruiting, onboarding, and compliance. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys autonomy, building processes, and working closely with leadership to make a real impact.
What You’ll Do- Serve as the company’s first HR professional, helping build and formalize HR processes
- Coordinate with ADP for payroll-related matters, employee setup, and reporting
- Administer employee benefits, including enrollments, changes, and employee inquiries
- Manage onboarding and offboarding, including I-9 compliance and documentation
- Support recruiting: post jobs, screen resumes, and coordinate interviews
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR systems
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws
- Assist with employee relations and performance management
- Coordinate training, safety documentation, and compliance tracking
- Help develop and improve HR policies and procedures
- Act as the main point of contact for all HR-related questions
- 1–4 years of experience in an HR, People Operations, or HR administrative role
- Experience working with HRIS and payroll platforms (ADP experience strongly preferred)
- Basic knowledge of HR compliance and employment laws
- Strong organizational, communication, and confidentiality skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Experience in construction, engineering, or a related industry
- Experience in a small company or a standalone HR role
- Familiarity with workers’ compensation and safety compliance
- Salary: $60,000–$75,000 annually (based on experience)
