Payroll Specialist
Location: Suffern, NY (Hybrid)
Job Type: Temp-to-Perm
Job Summary:
The Payroll Specialist is responsible for processing accurate and timely payroll while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and internal policies. This role manages payroll workflows, reviews timekeeping data, and supports payroll-related reporting and reconciliations.
Key Responsibilities:
Process payroll transactions accurately and on schedule.
Review, audit, and process employee time sheets.
Reconcile payroll before transmission and validate post-payroll reports.
Coordinate proper taxation of employer-paid benefits.
Calculate and process wage garnishments.
Maintain payroll records and ensure data integrity.
Communicate with internal teams regarding payroll questions and discrepancies.
Perform other payroll-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma required, plus at least one (1) year of payroll experience, or an associate degree in Accounting.
Working knowledge of payroll software required; experience with Empeon strongly preferred.
Proficiency in Excel and Word.
Prior experience in a healthcare environment is a plus.
Strong attention to detail and ability to meet payroll deadlines.
