Overview
Volunteers of America-Greater New York (VOA-Greater New York) is an anti-poverty organization working to end homelessness in the New York area by 2050. We operate over 60 programs across New York City, Northern New Jersey and Westchester County including emergency, transitional and permanent housing. Our services extend to families experiencing homelessness, survivors of domestic violence, people living with HIV/AIDS, veterans, youth aging out of foster care, adults with behavioral health or substance use needs, and others in need, including a special education preschool program.
PositionPosition: Executive Human Resources Coordinator (Hybrid Remote)
The Executive HR Coordinator provides administrative support and is the ambassador to the executive leadership team (CHRO & VP) in Human Resources. The Executive HR Coordinator will be responsible for the overall operations of the Human Resources office management functions. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to prioritize and take initiative are essential. Must adhere to sensitive and highly confidential matters.

Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree plus two years of HR experience or an associate degree with three years of relevant experience.
- Must have the ability to effectively communicate with all staffing levels within the organization.
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office is required.
- Work independently and in direct collaboration with the Chief Human Resources & Compliance Officer and Vice President of Human Resources on special projects.
- Work collaboratively with executive leadership to best align HR practices with the agency’s evolving deliverables and strategic initiatives.
- Oversee and monitor overall compliance activities, including the annual submission of management and Board of Director acknowledgements to compliance policies.
- Liaise with other executive departments on other organizational requests as they relate to meeting their responsibilities such as annual reporting, policy reviews and compliance requests.
- Manage office operations such as Chief Human Resources & Compliance Officer and Vice President of Human Resources calendars, vendor relations, scheduling meetings, completing meeting minutes, and organize other HR related events as needed.
- Responsible for internal and external HR related inquiries; or manage information and requests in a timely and accurate manner and disseminate information as needed.
- Responsible for submitting all invoices via the accounting system and tracking all HR related expenses for reconciliation.
- Collaborate with other HR teams (operations, risk, talent acquisition and support) to meet the overall demands and success of the entire department.
While performing the duties of the job, the employee will be in an office/remote hybrid environment performing administrative work.
Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to have visual acuity, talk, and hear while communicating with peers and/or vendors. This position is sedentary and requires sitting for long period of times. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move items up to 20 pounds.
