Human Resources Specialist
GENERAL POSITION SUMMARYThis position will provide Human Resources support for Ticonderoga Mill. The position will report to the Human Resources Manager and will support the HR team and approximately 625 employees at the Ticonderoga Mill.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES- Prepare HR reports on a monthly basis and as needed, including employee listings
- Provide Administrative Assistant support for HR Manager HR Generalist and Mill learning leader
- Processes new hire and internal employee transfer, position vacancies, promotion, termination transactions, and personnel actions through the Ceridian Dayforce system.
- Provide support to Mill Team on the Ceridian and Dayforce payroll timekeeping system
- Provide reporting and recruiting support for HR team
- Maintain the Ticonderoga Mill Hourly Absentee Database, including tracking and reporting to the HR team
- Maintain the Discipline database, completing 289 forms for file
- Tracking and reporting for FMLA and NYS PFL, and NYS Paid Sick Leave
- Maintains the Ticonderoga Mill organizational structure
- Provides job posting information to the HR Team as well as posting jobs internally, including outreach letters
- Responsible for coordinating pre-employment activities such as background checks, drug testing in external database systems
- Assists managers and employees with HR systems in Vamos, Sylvamo site, Dayforce functions and SharePoint.
- Serves as liaison between employees and the Employee Service Center for payroll and benefits issues
- Effectively manage and coordinate training calendars, meetings, conference calls, etc.
- Ensure materials needed for training are prepared and organized
- Must be able to take lead in coordination of activities with other support personnel and maintain positive relationships with all levels of employees and customers
- Must be able to handle multiple tasks and work in a dynamic fast paced environment
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines; be organized and have excellent time management skills
- Maintains personnel files and confidentiality
- Completes Employment Eligibility Verification Forms (I-9)
- Provide support for Recruiting including coordinating interviews, candidate tracking, offer letters, and benefits
- Annually supports the completion of AAP report
- Provide annual benefit enrollment support to mill employees
- Perform other related tasks as assigned
- High school education required, BS/BA in Human Resources or related field preferred
- Minimum of two years’ administrative experience is required, preferably in Human Resources or a related field. Education or training may apply;
Knowledge of the Human Resources function, policies and procedures is preferred - Must be able to maintain confidentiality
- Self-starter, excellent interpersonal skills, positive attitude, sensitive to confidential information and ability to analyze data
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to successfully juggle multiple priorities and deliver results for established deadlines
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel Spreadsheets, Power-Point, Word) with proven ability to navigate Microsoft EXCEL and OUTLOOK
