Recruitment Consultant - Lateral Legal Recruiting
Henderson Scott is looking to add a high-calibre Recruitment Consultant to its lateral legal recruiting team. This is an opportunity for someone who is hungry, intellectually curious, and commercially minded to build a meaningful career in one of the most sophisticated areas of recruitment: law firm lateral hiring.
This role is ideal for a recruiter who understands the legal market, enjoys speaking with high-performing professionals, and wants to develop deep subject-matter expertise while scaling a desk with the support of an experienced leadership team.
The RoleThis is a full-desk recruitment role with a strong initial focus on candidate generation. You will be responsible for identifying, engaging, and rigorously vetting associate-level attorneys across key practice areas, while developing a nuanced understanding of the lateral law firm market.
- Market map law firms and practice groups to identify high-potential lateral talent
- Conduct detailed, consultative phone conversations with associate attorneys to assess experience, motivations, and long-term career goals
- Build and maintain a high-quality candidate network within defined legal practice areas
- Develop a deep understanding of law firm hiring trends, compensation structures, and competitive dynamics
- Work closely with senior team members on client management and business development, with increasing responsibility over time
- Progress toward running a fully independent desk once ready, with continued strategic support
We are looking for someone with a genuine sales edge, but not a transactional mindset. You should be commercially aware, persuasive, and confident in driving conversations forward, while remaining thoughtful, credible, and consultative. You understand that long-term success comes from:

- Prior experience in legal recruitment is essential; familiarity with law firm lateral recruiting is a must

- Base salary: $75,000 - $95,000;
