Technical Recruiter

As a Technical Recruiter at Nominal, you’ll be a core partner to leaders across Engineering, Product, Growth, and Operations, helping build some of the most technically ambitious teams in hardware‑adjacent software. You’ll own end‑to‑end hiring for 3–5 critical roles at a time, spanning software, infrastructure, product, growth, and hardware‑adjacent positions—roles that are often niche, high‑signal, and highly competitive. This is not a high‑volume role;

it’s about quality, judgment, and relationship‑building. You’ll have real ownership from day one: shaping hiring strategy, influencing role definition, advising leaders, and continuously improving how we recruit as the company scales.

We’re hiring two recruiters to scale our Talent team:

  • Type 1: Process‑driven, metrics‑oriented, and obsessed with operational excellence
  • Type 2: Creative, narrative‑driven, and excited to invent new ways to reach mission‑aligned talent
🚀 What You’ll Do at Nominal
  • Own 3–5 concurrent, high‑impact hiring processes from kickoff to close
  • Partner closely with hiring managers as a trusted thought partner on role design, sourcing strategy, and closing
  • Personally manage and nurture candidate pipelines, building long‑term relationships with top talent
  • Act as the primary point of contact for candidates, delivering a thoughtful, high‑integrity experience
  • Lead projects to improve recruiting operations, candidate experience, or Nominal’s talent brand
  • Clearly and credibly communicate startup compensation and equity, helping candidates understand long‑term upside

  • 4+ years of recruiting experience at startups or other high‑performance environments
  • A proven track record of building trusted relationships with candidates and hiring managers
  • Known by peers as dependable, resourceful, and someone who “gets things done”
  • Excited by ownership, ambiguity, and building from zero to one
  • Aligned with our in‑office culture (NYC, LA, or Austin)
  • Able to tell a compelling, authentic story that resonates with mission‑driven technical talent
  • Nice to have: experience explaining and closing on startup equity and compensation packages

Type 2️⃣ Recruiter:
The Storyteller
  • You see recruiting as a creative craft and a strategic lever.
  • Think beyond traditional sourcing and career fairs
  • Design unique experiences, events, and partnerships to reach mission‑aligned talent
  • Tell Nominal’s story in a way that resonates deeply with engineers and operators
  • Willing to travel or experiment to put Nominal in front of the right communities
  • Constantly test new ideas to stand out in competitive talent markets
