Salary/Hourly Rate$25/hr – $35/hr (Depending on experience and qualifications)
Position OverviewThe Payroll Specialist is responsible for processing payroll accurately and on time, maintaining payroll records, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role requires strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and a thorough understanding of payroll systems and procedures.
Responsibilities Of The Payroll Specialist- Process bi‑weekly or semi‑monthly payroll for all employees.
- Maintain and update payroll records, including new hires, terminations, and changes.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and labor laws.
- Prepare and distribute W‑2s, 1099s, and other payroll‑related documents.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, and timekeeping.
- Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure accurate reporting.
- Reconcile payroll accounts and assist with audits.
- Stay current on changes in payroll laws and regulations.
- Assist with benefits administration and leave tracking as needed.
- 2+ years of experience in payroll processing.
- Proficiency with payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, Workday, UKG).
- Strong understanding of payroll regulations and tax laws.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Strong communication and problem‑solving skills.
- Associate's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
- Bachelor's degree is preferred.
- Payroll certification (e.g., FPC or CPP) is a plus.
