Base pay range

$70,000.00 / yr – $90,000.00 / yr

This role supports Correctional Health Services (CHS), part of NYC Health + Hospitals, at Rikers Island in the Bronx, NY. The mission of NYC Health + Hospitals is to provide comprehensive health services of the highest quality in an atmosphere of humane care, dignity, and respect.

Objectives of this role
  • Work closely with managers to understand hiring needs and meet competitive hiring goals.
  • Manage full recruiting across a variety of open roles, helping managers hire and retain quality candidates.
  • Foster high‑touch relationships using a database of qualified candidates for open positions.
  • Partner with recruiting team and senior managers to design, refine, and implement innovative recruitment strategies.
  • Remain active with job boards, social networks, and platforms for finding quality candidates, and create and post job descriptions and announcements.
Responsibilities
  • Achieve staffing objectives by recruiting and evaluating job candidates.
  • Determine applicant requirements by studying job descriptions and qualifications.
  • Screen applicants, verify references, and compare qualifications to job requirements.
  • Build relationships with managers to understand department hiring needs.
  • Execute innovative strategies to find quality candidates and prospect for new business.
  • Manage resumes throughout the hiring process and provide recruitment reports to managers.
  • Post vacancies on recruitment platforms and career boards.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with educational institutions and residency/fellowship programs.
  • Manage email campaigns, job fairs, open houses, employee referral programs, and other events.
  • Proactively recruit both active and passive candidates.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
