OverviewReporting to the Head of HR & People in the US, the HR Generalist is responsible for assisting with ensuring that our world class people are happy and supported, that they know what’s expected of them, and that they understand how to develop their careers with us. The role provides support to our employees in the following areas, including but not limited to, talent acquisition, payroll & benefits, onboarding, compliance, performance management, employee relations and engagement, leave administration, and policy development.
Inthis role, you will be involved with the following:
Embedding Excellence in Talent Management
- Assist with coordinating talent management activities for Smartest US ensuring our team feel supported, respected, and able to perform and grow their careers to their best potential.
- Provide support to the HR team and managers around recruitment, including coordinating the recruitment process from beginning to end.
- Conduct onboarding process, so people who join our company feel included in our team and supported from the outset while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
- Ensure our team feel supported by creating a culture of openness and approachability for staff on HR matters.
- Provide coaching to managers involving employee performance concerns and professional development; assist in employee relations matters as appropriate.
- Assist with our employee engagement initiatives by tracking and reporting on surveys and feedback received.
- Promote DEI initiatives.
- Coordinate learning and development activities so employees have what is needed to enhance their skills and meet business and career development goals.
- Facilitate our employment policies and procedures, ensuring they fit our culture from a best practice perspective, while maintaining legal compliance on a federal, state, and local level, as applicable.
- Monitor and maintain compliance with employment laws on a federal, state, and local level, as applicable.
- Oversee HR information systems (HRIS) and ensure accurate data and reporting capabilities; keep data current, and provide support and data as needed.
- Keep postings and policies current, including but not limited to the employee handbook and related addendums, and update as needed.
- Working with applicable partners, coordinate payroll and benefits activities.
- Oversee leave administration.
- Maintain HR files and related documents to ensure compliance and accuracy including but not limited to personnel files, HR documents and procedures, job descriptions, employment posters, etc.
- Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with the HR team (both global and local) to develop solutions, programs and policies.
- Assist with office management priorities as needed.
- Provide communications as needed to all employees.
- Oversee safety policies & programs.
Ensure that information security policies and procedures are adhered to.
To be successful in this role, you are likely to have the following skills/experience:- 3-5 years of progressive experience in the area of Human Resources.
- Experience of federal and multi-state employment requirements.
- Experience working with and supporting staff and managers at all levels.
- Degree in HR discipline or equivalent.
- Knowledge of US employment law on a federal, multi-state, and local level.
