Overview
Our client, a prestigious AM100 law firm, is seeking a Senior Benefits & Leave Specialist to join their HR team in New York. This role offers the opportunity to be a key point of contact for benefits administration, leave management, and employee lifecycle activities within one of the most respected legal environments in the country. The Senior Specialist will work closely with HR, Payroll, Legal Personnel, and other internal stakeholders to deliver a seamless employee experience from onboarding through offboarding, while ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local leave laws.

Key Responsibilities- Facilitate benefits-related portions of new hire orientation and onboarding sessions.
- Guide employees through benefits enrollment, policies, and resources.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employees and managers regarding leave policies, eligibility, and procedures.
- Administer and track all leaves of absence, including FMLA, Paid Family Leave (PFL), ADA accommodations, short-term disability (STD), long-term disability (LTD), and other statutory or firm-provided leaves.
- Maintain compliance with applicable laws and ensure accurate documentation of all leave cases.
- Partner with Payroll to ensure accurate benefits-related deductions, leave pay calculations, and disability payments.
- Support annual benefits enrollment and ongoing employee communications.
- Stay current on federal, state, and local leave laws and regulations.
- Recommend and implement process improvements for leave tracking, communication, and compliance.
- 5+ years of benefits and leave administration experience, preferably in a professional services or law firm environment.
- In-depth knowledge of FMLA, PFL, ADA, STD, LTD
, and related regulations. - Strong understanding of benefits enrollment, compliance, and vendor management.
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to work with employees at all levels with discretion and empathy.
