We are looking for a Catering Sales Coordinator to join our Constellation team at The New York Botanical Garden in the Bronx, NY. This is a great opportunity if you have a catering & events background and you have had experience planning and executing those events. You will be directly supporting the needs/goals of the Director of Catering as well as the Catering Sales Manager and the Event Specialist.

*** This position works days, nights and weekends. A flexible schedule is needed to accommodate event needs***

$25 an hour.

• Working as a member of a cohesive operations teams supporting the Director of Catering and sales team, as well as the General Manager to enable event execution. This individual functions as a support to the Event Manager and Captains, as well as sometimes acting as a junior sales specialist when business levels are high. The Catering Sales Coordinator maintains a positive, “win‑win” attitude, always working to improve the execution and timeliness of their team.
• Ensuring all event information in Cater Xpert from the sales team is up to date and fully detailed prior to event/deadlines.
• Assisting in the setup and execution of events, as well as closing out assigned events.
• Ensuring all event and pre‑event paperwork is assembled for proper communication in a timely manner.
• Spearheading business dining for the internal client- scheduling deliveries, organizing layouts, collaborating with culinary.
• Collaborating with facilities teams to ensure proper inventory and cleanliness for event execution and closeout.
• Maintaining calendar of events through Outlook and attend all necessary event meetings and conference calls.
• Communicate with sales, culinary and booking staff, as needed, to ensure understanding of menus and client needs.
• Assisting with sales during the initial inquiry process.
• As needed, assisting in food and beverage outlets in a supervisory role.

Must-haves:

• 2 years of catering/food‑beverage and/or administrative/event experience
• Basic PC knowledge and comprehension (Word & Excel)

Nice-to-haves:

• Safe Food Handlers Certification
