Location: New York

We are seeking a hospitality focused and organized individual to join our team as a Assistant Banquet Manager to oversee the planning and execution of all banquet events at our venue. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, excellent organizational abilities, and a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:
  • Oversee daily banquet operations, including event pre-planning, table settings, and service flow, to ensure smooth and efficient service.
  • Collaborate with the Event & Sales teams to understand the event needs and preferences, providing guidance on menu selections, room layouts, and event timelines.
  • Recruit, train, and manage banquet staff, ensuring they are well-prepared and equipped to deliver outstanding service during events.
  • Prepare and manage event budgets, ensuring that costs are controlled and that the financial goals are met.
  • Coordinate all aspects of banquet events, including setup, service, and breakdown, ensuring that all details are executed to the highest standards.
  • Monitor food and beverage service quality during events, ensuring that all items meet the venue’s standards for presentation and taste.
  • Work closely with the culinary team to ensure timely and accurate preparation and presentation of food and beverages.
  • Oversee the logistics of each event, including equipment rentals, decorations, and audiovisual needs.
  • Ensure all health and safety regulations are adhered to during events, including proper food handling and staff training.
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in fine dining restaurant management or banquet manager role.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Knowledge of food and beverage pairings, wine, and service etiquette.
  • Proficiency in restaurant management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION:
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to move around the establishment, including walking, standing, to supervise operations and assist guests as needed.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Flexibility to reach, bend, and stoop.
  • Availability to work weekends and holidays as needed.
