About The Job
Based at the Mandarin Oriental New York within the Food and Beverage Department in New York, the Bar/Beverage Manager maintains the overall day‑to‑day operation and long‑term outlook of the bar while creating a pleasant dining environment and αλλά experiência.
Key Responsibilities- Support the company’s philosophy and culture through the use of Pillars of Legendary Quality Experiences to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Maintain and update beverage offerings at the bar and lounge.
- Provide leadership and support for bartenders and servers, including training, evaluating, and scheduling.
- Perform administrative duties such as scheduling, payroll, inventory, and ordering.
- Supervise bar maintenance and cleanliness; manage staffing and supplies.
- Conduct daily pre‑shift communications and chair monthly departmental meetings.
- Ensure bar service standards and guest satisfaction through regular visits to tables.
- Coordinate all aspects of service including food & beverage requirements, event timing, special requests, billing instructions and decor.
- Report suspicious persons or activities, hazardous conditions, and follow health & safety regulations.
- Ensure accuracy байқ menus and assist with check reconciliation.
- Develop yearly budget, semi‑monthly pace reports, and monthly forecasts; monitor payroll and approve departmental PAFs.
- Attend scheduled food & beverage meetings and update procedures as necessary.
- Minimum |(3 years) in a similar position, preferably in a luxury environment.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Willingness to work flexible schedule, holidays, and varied hours as business dictates.
- Ability to operate and manage all equipment necessary to run the bar with grace under pressure.
- Capability to handle up to 50 pounds of equipment, stand for 8–10 hours, and move equipment as needed.
- In‑depth knowledge of wine and beverages and extensive service knowledge.
- Excellent communication and organization skills, with the ability to multitask.
