LocationThe role is based at the 33-story design‑forward hotel at Rockefeller Center, New York City, a Kimpton portfolio addition. The hotel features 529 guest rooms, two full‑service restaurants, a lobby lounge, a rooftop bar, a fitness center, and two spaces for meetings and social gatherings.
OverviewThe Room Attendant is crucial for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction. Responsibilities include cleaning and preparing guest rooms, assisting with guest requests, managing linen, and performing general and deep cleaning as needed.
Key Responsibilities- Operational Support:
- Clean and prepare guest rooms, including stay‑over and check‑out rooms, adhering to established hotel procedures and brand standards.
- Make beds, change linens, replace towels.
- Thoroughly clean and sanitize bathrooms.
- Dust, polish, and wipe all surfaces.
- Service minibar.
- Vacuum carpets and mop hard floors.
- Empty trash receptacles and replace liners.
- Replenish in‑room amenities such as toiletries, coffee supplies, and stationery.
- Perform self‑inspections of all assigned rooms to ensure quality before reporting them as ready.
- Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or damaged items promptly using Hot Sos.
- Maintain an organized, stocked housekeeping cart and linen closet.
- General Duties:
- Adhere to health, safety, and sanitation regulations, including OSHA standards.
- Operate and maintain cleaning equipment safely.
- Handle guest requests and inquiries politely.
- Handle chemicals and cleaning agents according to safety guidelines.
- Perform duties of a house attendant as needed.
- Prior experience in housekeeping or a similar role, preferably within a hotel or hospitality environment.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to high‑quality work.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
- Basic communication skills to interact with guests and team members.
- Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and equipment usage is desirable.
- Physical requirements:
stand, walk, pull, push, bend, stoop, and lift for extended periods; lift up to 25–30 pounds; manual dexterity to operate cleaning equipment; ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
