Job SummaryThe Service Director leads the front‑of‑house experience for a high‑end, design‑driven restaurant, ensuring every guest interaction reflects the highest standards of hospitality, precision, and elegance. This role oversees daily service operations, drives team performance, and partners closely with culinary leadership to create a seamless, elevated dining experience.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee all front‑of‑house service operations, ensuring refined, attentive, and anticipatory hospitality throughout each service period.
- Lead, train, and inspire service teams, including captains, servers, bartenders, and support staff, to maintain consistency, polish, and a deep understanding of guest expectations.
- Develop and maintain service standards, steps of service, and training systems that reflect a luxury dining environment.
- Maintain a strong floor presence, actively engaging with guests, resolving issues, and ensuring memorable experiences.
- Partner with the culinary and beverage teams to support menu launches, wine education, pairing experiences, and special events.
- Manage labor, scheduling, and staffing levels to uphold service quality while meeting financial targets.
- Uphold all health, safety, and sanitation requirements and maintain a well‑organized, efficient front‑of‑house operation.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing development of front‑of‑house talent.
- Drive a culture of professionalism, hospitality, and continuous improvement.
- 5+ years of leadership in fine dining, luxury hospitality, or high‑volume upscale restaurants.
- Deep knowledge of service standards, wine, beverage, and guest‑experience programming.
- Strong leadership, communication, and team-development skills.
- Proven ability to manage operations, guest relations, and financial performance simultaneously.
- Experience in design‑forward or experiential hospitality environments is a plus.
