Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacist in Charge to join our team. As the Pharmacist in Charge
, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the pharmacy department and ensuring the safe and effective use of medications. Your expertise and leadership will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and maintaining compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and supervise the pharmacy staff, including pharmacists, technicians, and support personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations governing the practice of pharmacy.
  • Ensure accurate dispensing of medications and adherence to proper procedures while overseeing compounding and labeling processes.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize patient care and medication therapy management.
  • Provide drug information to healthcare professionals and patients.
  • Conduct medication utilization reviews to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Monitor patient outcomes and make recommendations for therapy adjustments as needed.
  • Participate in medical management activities, including formulary management and medication utilization reviews.
  • Maintain aseptic technique in sterile compounding areas.
  • Provide clinical support in acute care settings such as the emergency room (ER) and intensive care unit (ICU).
  • Demonstrate proficiency in medical terminology and patient service.
  • Monitor medication inventory levels and order medications as needed.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
Qualifications
  • Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.

    D.) degree.
  • Current state pharmacist license in good standing.
  • Previous experience as a licensed pharmacist.
  • Strong knowledge of pharmacology, physiology, and drug interactions.
  • Leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with healthcare professionals and patients.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical compounding and medication therapy management.
  • Proficiency in medication administration, including IV infusion and pain management.
