Division/Program Summary

The Bureau of Public Health Clinics-Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI) has the mission of improving the sexual health of all New Yorkers. To achieve this the Bureau provides direct clinic services to people seeking sexual health care, and services to sex partners; monitors disease trends; provides education and training to providers and community groups, conducts research and develop policies to improve sexual health and wellness.

The Bureau of Public Health Clinics-Sexually Transmitted Infections operates 8 Sexual Health clinics throughout New York City (NYC).

Position Summary

The Bureau of Public Health Clinics requests to hire a part-time Public Health Advisor, Level I. This individual will report to one of the STI Clinic managers and work with other Public Health Advisors and clinicians.



Job Duties And Responsibilities

  • Staff to be cross trained to perform clerical duties to aide in registration including flow monitor services.
  • Documenting intake information collected during Intake Service in the Electronic Medical Record.
  • Assist clinicians in patient medical examinations.
  • Specimen processing, labeling, packaging; order tests in electronic medical record (EMR), and route to specific area.
  • Assist in maintaining inventory of supplies under the direction of the clinic manager or physician-in-charge (PIC).
