DIETICIAN

Overview

The Dietician in the Enhanced Family Foster Care program provides dietary counseling and follow up to at risk foster children and their foster parents.

• Provide dietary counseling to foster children and their foster parents.
• Monitor and track patient progress.
• Identify community resources to aide in health and well-being.
• Work with medical and social work teams to ensure optimal health and wellness for identified patients.
• Communicate effectively with staff, children and parents.
• Work closely with nursing staff, pediatrician and mental health providers to better serve the dietary needs of the foster child.

• NYS Licensed as a Dietician.
• A BA in dietetics-Nutrition or similar field required.
• One year of experience in related field.
• Must have extensive knowledge of child nutrition, diabetes, obesity, and high cholesterol.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate clearly and effectively.
• Must be able to write and use a computer.
• The employee must be able to drive as well as use public transportation, including the subway.
• The employee will need to stand, sit, and move at times for extended periods.
