General ResponsibilitiesJASA, the go-to social service agency for older adults living in New York City, is seeking a dynamic program director to lead our Help Center and Senior Community Connections programs. The director provides oversight and quality assurance for all aspects of the programs, including staff management, resource development, outreach and training. The director ensures staff provide a person-centered planning approach to individuals through information and referral, short-term counseling, benefits assessments, advocacy efforts, and other strategies to assist individuals and/or their caregivers in making decisions regarding current and future long-term services and supports.
JASA is seeking a collaborative leader with strong coaching, multitasking, and relationship-building skills who will motivate skilled staff to ensure clients receive the highest standards of care while ensuring program deliverables are exceeded. This role currently offers a hybrid work schedule.

Specific Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe Program Director will manage the daily provision of services provided by the Help Center and SCC, including:
- Communication with multiple philanthropic funders, preparing and submitting reports, and responding to funder requests in a timely manner
- Utilizing client record database to monitor service units and analyze program outputs
- Supervision of staff across four boroughs, including Master’s level social workers, case managers and registered nurse in the following areas:
- Information and assistance on all long term care services/supports
- Conducting comprehensive screenings and assessments with individuals over the phone or in-person, in order to create and complete service plans
- Provision of off-site visits to select persons in their residences, acute, sub-acute, and chronic care facilities, as appropriate
- Compliance with all applicable funder and JASA Standards when interacting with all clients and performing all other job functions
- Develop relationships internally and externally in an effort to perform outreach and education activities with groups to increase awareness of the program, its core functions, its objectives and value to the community
- Identify team knowledge gaps and participate in professional trainings to acquire and update skills
- Provide supervision, address job performance and conduct annual performance reviews in accordance with social work, agency and funding source standards
- Work with HR to recruit and interview employment candidates
- Work under supervision of JASA’s Senior Director, Care Management & Information Services and contribute to the leadership of the portfolio
- Perform other tasks as requested or assigned
- In all responsibilities listed above, utilize a strength based, person centered approach to support the individual’s independence and self-determination while working with a diverse population and respond to all individuals in a professional, non-judgmental and culturally appropriate manner
- Graduate of an accredited university with a Masters Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Gerontology or other related field
- Minimum of 3-5 years post-master’s level experience in social services with supervisory experience
- Strong understanding and knowledge of the long-term care support services available to aging adults in New York City
- Familiarity with the older adult and people with disabilities populations
- Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to provide professional supervision and leadership to staff
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of Google suite, video conferencing and client databases to enhance effective remote work
- Familiarity with program development, reporting, data collection and analysis
- Ability to travel across New York City, mainly the Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan and Queens
- An understanding and appreciation of the roles of race, religion, ethnicity, sexual preference, and individual values have as they relate to serving clients
