We are seeking a full-time Medical Staff Credentialing Specialist to join our team on-site in New York, NY. This role involves overseeing the credentialing and re-credentialing processes for medical staff, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards. Responsibilities include evaluating applications, verifying practitioner qualifications, managing data and documentation, and maintaining accurate and up-to-date credentialing records. The specialist will collaborate closely with providers, department heads, and accreditation bodies to ensure timely and efficient credentialing processes that meet operational needs.
Qualifications- Expertise in credentialing processes, provider enrollment, and regulatory compliance standards
- Strong organizational and data management skills, with keen attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with physicians and administrative staff
- Proficiency in credentialing software, filing systems, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines
- Knowledge of accreditation and regulatory requirements, such as Joint Commission standards, is a plus
- Bachelor's degree in Health Administration, Business, or a related field is preferred
- Certification as a Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) or Certified Professional Medical Services Management (CPMSM) is highly desirable
- Previous experience in medical staff credentialing or a related healthcare administrative role is an advantage
