Clinical Coordinator - Radiologic Technology Program
POSITION DETAILSThe Clinical Coordinator plays a vital role in administering and advancing the clinical education component of the Hostos Radiologic Technology Program. Acting as the primary liaison between the program and its affiliated clinical sites, the Clinical Coordinator ensures that students receive comprehensive, high‑quality hands‑on training in compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards.
This position integrates administrative oversight, student support and evaluation, instructional collaboration, and radiation safety responsibilities. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong organizational and communication skills, deep knowledge of radiologic technology practices, and the ability to collaborate effectively with students, faculty, clinical partners, and program leadership to promote program excellence and student success.
Reporting directly to the Unit Coordinator, the successful candidate will be responsible, but not limited to the following:
- Secure, evaluate, and maintain appropriate clinical sites to support student clinical requirements.
- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of regional, state, and JRCERT accreditation standards, ensuring all clinical experiences and outcomes meet required guidelines.
- Track and evaluate students’ weekly clinical performance, ensuring timely completion of required competencies and following up on missing documentation.
- Conduct routine visits to clinical education centers to ensure adherence to departmental policies and procedures by faculty and students.
- Assign students to clinical sites and manage all onboarding processes and documentation.
- Identify at‑risk students or clinical concerns promptly; collaborate with the Program Coordinator and clinical instructors to implement effective action plans.
- Assist with laboratory components of coursework to enhance student learning.
- Collect and report assessment data aligned with key accreditation standards each semester.
- Support the Program Director in maintaining effective daily operations of the Radiologic Technology Program.
- Maintain current knowledge of discipline‑specific content, professional practices, and instructional methods.
- Teach a laboratory procedures course once per semester, as needed.
- Participate in program‑related meetings and events, including faculty meetings, recruitment initiatives, new student orientation, and Radiologic Technology Advisory Committee meetings.
- Contribute to broader Allied Health Department initiatives, including student recruitment, orientation, academic advisement, curriculum development, participation on the External Curriculum Advisory Committee, and college‑wide committees.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Unit Coordinator or Department Chair.
- Essential duties require on‑campus presence/in‑person work.
Bachelor’s degree and four years’ related experience required.
The following qualifications are preferred:
- ARRT Certification in Radiography
- Bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Science, Radiologic Technology, or a related health field
- Minimum two years of clinical experience in the radiologic technology profession
- Minimum one year of teaching or preceptor experience within a JRCERT‑accredited program
- Demonstrated proficiency in curriculum development, supervision, instruction, evaluation, and academic advising
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel to clinical sites
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships, demonstrating cultural competence and emotional intelligence
- Experience with instructional technology, online teaching, and learning management systems
- Experience working with traditional and non‑traditional learners from diverse backgrounds
- Availability to work evening and weekend hours when required
