Position SummaryWe have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Patient Transporter. In this role, the successful candidate transports patients, supplies, and laboratory items in a safe, efficient manner throughout the facility. The candidate provides patient comfort, handles all patients in a calm and reassuring manner, and assists with all transfers to and from bedside according to the correct mode of transportation.
The candidate also assists in the delivery of mail as needed.
- Logs in and out in a timely manner utilizing the schedule for shift assignment, breaks, and lunches. Response and completion times of all transports fall within established guidelines.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Manages all transport equipment and cleans/sanitizes transport equipment after use. Returns all transport equipment to the proper storage area when not in use.
- Establishes patient identification in conjunction with the Ticket to Ride procedure before transport is initiated.
- Reports transport delays or cancellations to the receiving department and properly codes them through the Transport Tracking system.
- High School or GED.
- Basic computer skills.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
1 – 2 years of transport or related experience.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for this role is $47,979.15 – $47,979.15 annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses, incentive pay, differential pay, or other forms of compensation or benefits.
