Job Overview:
The Regional Dietitian provides leadership in overseeing and optimizing nutrition care across multiple facilities within a designated region. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based nutrition services while maintaining regulatory compliance. The Regional Dietitian collaborates with facility dietitians, and other interdisciplinary team members to implement and evaluate a nutrition plan of care that improves clinical outcomes and resident quality of life.
Additionally, the position involves training, auditing and supporting staff RDs.
Responsibilities and Duties
Assist the Clinical Director and VP in all aspects of day-to-day operations at contracted facilities. Oversees the overall status of their individual region, ensuring that concerns related to facilities or dietitians are communicated in a timely manner.
Directly supervise Registered Dietitians in the execution of their daily responsibilities.
Provide temporary coverage for Registered Dietitians during absences (e.g., vacations, approved leaves of absence, or while recruiting replacements) or when additional assistance is required at a facility.
Train new Registered Dietitians and oversee, audit, and support Nutra Co's Registered Dietitians to ensure quality and consistency.
Support Nutra Co's mission by striving for excellence in all job responsibilities, focusing on fostering positive interpersonal relationships with co-workers and facility team members.
Communicate effectively with facility corporate team members, including Administrators, Directors of Nursing, and Assistant Directors of Nursing, maintaining respectful relationships that reflect Nutra Co in a positive light.
Conduct clinical audits and performance reviews of Registered Dietitians to ensure high standards of care.
Act as a resource for Registered Dietitians by answering questions, providing evidence-based nutrition education, and offering recommendations to streamline tasks and improve efficiency.
Engage in continuing professional education to maintain certification and/or licensure
Manage and provide direction to ensure practices are effective, efficient, and compliant with federal, state, and local regulations.
Travel as needed, with a maximum of 2-4 hours per day.
Perform other duties as assigned by management, in accordance with Nutra Co's policies and procedures, and in support of the facility's operations.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Bachelor's degree and Registered Dietitian in accordance with the Commission on Dietetic Registration, required
Advanced Practitioner Certification and other advance practice, preferred
Licensed by the State Dietetics Licensing Board in states where applicable required
Computer literacy skills (Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office, Internet, Electronic Medical Records Charting)
One (1) year clinical experience in healthcare setting or completion of an accredited internship.
Ability to read, write, and speak English; and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
