• Day Shift - 7.5 Hours (United States of America)
• The Histology Tech - Performs histologic techniques: processes tissues (manual, microwave and automatic); embeds different types and sizes of tissues; sections different types and sizes of tissues in preparation for stain; stains: routine, special, and immunohistochemical staining for confirmatory reasons; cover slips stained tissue sections for archival purposes; labels stained slides for proper identification and diagnostic purposes; prepares and maintains reagents and equipment;
  
  performs cutting and staining of frozen section specimen; performs cytological techniques if assigned within the shift: processes the specimen by the centrifuge; prepares smears of cytology specimens for microscopic examination; performs Papanicolaou Stain and Diff Quick Stain on smears; prepares cell blocks; files and retrieves blocks and slides; quality control and quality assurance activities; chemical supplies inventory; manages chemical and biological wastes;
  
  morgue coverage if needed; performs other duties as necessary for efficient operation of the department
• Other duties as necessary for efficient operation of the department

• At least 1 year experience in a Histology Laboratory, preferred. This may include completion of an ASCP education program.
• NYS Licensed Laboratory / Histology Technician - Required.

Salary Range: $30.978/Hr - $32.486/Hr
