we are currently seeking a passionate individual for the position of part time adult home care aide. In this crucial role, you will be based at the pleasant gardens adult home, a 26-bed facility which provides 24-hour supervision, personal care, meals, housekeeping, laundry service, transportation, daily recreational activities, and medication management.

position responsibilities

• make residents' beds and ensure linens are changed weekly or as needed.
• prepare, cook, and serve meals and snacks according to dietary needs.
• perform laundry tasks for residents' linens and personal clothing.
• maintain cleanliness and organization through regular housekeeping and adhering to the cleaning schedule.
• monitor and restock personal hygiene supplies for residents.
• administer/supervise medication administration and assist residents with daily routines.
• document incidents and complete the daily census accurately.
• ensure the safety of resident rooms and common areas, assisting with additional tasks as needed.

position requirements

• high school diploma or equivalency
• experience working with elderly preferred
• valid nys driver's license in good standing
• physical requirements: sits, stands, stoops, squats, walks, and moves intermittently during work hours, may push or pull 10-15 pounds daily, may push or pull up to 50 pounds occasionally, drive agency vehicle
• training in first aid and cpr required
• successful completion of annual physical and ppd

position relationships

• reports to: adult home administrator
• supervises: none

shift 1: thursday 3pm-11pm & saturday 3pm-11pm

shift 2: saturday 7am-3pm & sunday 7am-3pm

per diem also available

pay rate: $18.50 hourly

location: pleasant gardens adult home in bayport, ny
