Patient Registrar - Patient Access - DHK - Part Time (Rotating shift)

The Patient Registrars are responsible for greeting and registering the patient in a tactful and courteous manner. They obtain all pertinent patient demographics, insurance information and regulatory signatures. These are critical data points that enable correct billing and timely payment to the hospital; as well as, clinical staff with pertinent patient information. (i.e. pharmacy). In addition, the registrars have begun photo capture and MyChart sign-up in an effort to increase patient safety.

The registrars collect payments for deductibles and copayments. This position is in the Central Admitting department.

Located at New York-Presbyterian/ DHK - Weill Cornell Medical Center.

Shift: Rotating (Requires some flexibility). This will include weekend and holiday coverage.

• Some college
• Knowledge of health insurance benefits/requirements
• Knowledge of Coding: ICD 9, CPT-4

• High School diploma or GED
• One year of clerical experience
• Effective communication skills
• Computer Skills
• Keyboarding Skills (Data entry skills of 4500 keystrokes)
