Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to support our ophthalmologists and clinical team. The ideal candidate is organized, patient-focused, and eager to work in a specialty practice. Prior ophthalmology experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures
- Obtain and document patient history, medications, and chief complaints
- Perform preliminary ophthalmic testing (e.g., visual acuity, tonometry, imaging as trained)
- Assist physicians during exams and minor procedures
- Administer eye drops and medications per physician orders
- Maintain exam rooms, instruments, and equipment
- Accurately document in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care
- Ensure patient flow and provide excellent customer service
