Temporary Industrial Prevention Specialist – Progressive Health Occ Health Services, LLC – Queens, NY

We are looking for an energetic and results-driven Industrial Prevention Specialist to provide injury prevention services onsite temporarily for a major airline carrier at JFK Airport. We strive to increase the industrial athlete’s ability to perform their job duties safely and decrease the risk of injury through intervention at the early onset of discomfort in a dynamic work environment. This position will strategically support employees by providing OSHA first aid care, ergonomic support/training, education, and coaching.

- We are looking for temporary coverage during a staff member’s leave of absence.
- Providing proactive injury prevention and OSHA First Aid care, including ergonomic postural education
- Providing ergonomic assessments and support by understanding the site operations, job processes, and physical demands to make ergonomic recommendations to prevent more serious musculoskeletal conditions from occurring
- Keeping accurate, detailed documentation with efficiency while being able to provide feedback to the industrial athlete and client for continuous health improvements
- Understanding and providing reports with key metrics to leadership, client partners, and operations management

Qualifications- A background in Athletic Training, Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, Health & Wellness, Health Promotion, Human Performance, Public Health, Physical Education, Fitness, Personal Training, or Athletics
- CPR/AED certification or the ability to obtain it prior to the start of employment; maintain and provide proof of current certification(s)
- Basic knowledge of workers' compensation and OSHA regulations, preferred
- The ability to stand, walk, and sit throughout the entire assigned shift
- Ergonomic and/or occupational health experience preferred
- A high degree of professionalism in both written and verbal communication
- The ability to work both independently and in a team environment, without constant supervision
- Be able to maintain confidentiality
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with databases and with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
