The Department of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences within the School of Public Health and Health Professions invites applicants for a full-time,
10-month Clinical Assistant Professor position in our Nutrition Program. This is a clinical faculty position to begin in August 2026.
- Primarily teach the undergraduate Nutrition Program, with opportunities to teach in other departmental programs.
- Empower the next generation of nutrition professionals by offering personalized academic advising, career mentorship, and meaningful guidance to both students and teaching assistants.
- Shape the course design, continuous program enhancement, and thoughtful evaluation that keeps our offerings cutting‑edge and relevant.
- Play an active role in advancing the department and the profession by contributing to committees, initiatives, and service activities across the Department, School, University, and professional organizations.
- Foster a collaborative, supportive academic community by modeling collegiality, teamwork, and a spirit of shared purpose in all faculty interactions.
The Department of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences is a dynamic, research‑driven academic unit within the School of Public Health & Health Professions. Faculty and students collaborate across well‑established research programs supported by excellent facilities and a wide range of academic offerings—from undergraduate degrees in Exercise and Nutritional Sciences to advanced MS and PhD programs.
The Department offers a BS in Exercise Science, a BS in Nutritional Sciences, a BS/MS in Exercise Nutrition, an MS in Clinical Nutrition leading to the Registered Dietician credential, an MS degree in Athletic Training, MS degrees in Nutrition and Exercise Science and PhD degrees in Exercise Science and Nutrition.
A signature feature of the department is the Center for Research and Education in Special Environments (CRESE), a state‑of‑the‑art facility that enables cutting‑edge research at altitude, underwater, and in extreme temperatures. It’s an exciting environment for faculty who want to innovate, mentor, and make a meaningful impact in the fields of nutrition and human performance.
Minimum Qualifications- Earned PhD in Nutrition or a related field; OR Doctor of Clinical Nutrition (DCN) with 2 years teaching experience.
- Evidence of teaching experience in nutrition or closely related areas such as biochemistry, pathophysiology of chronic diseases, epidemiology, or health behavior.
- Postdoctoral research training.
- Record of peer‑reviewed scientific publications consistent with experience.
- Credentialed as a registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
$70,000 - $80,000
