ResponsibilitiesThe Ultrasonographer, under the direct supervision of the Medical Director and Director of Radiology, is responsible for providing high-quality imaging studies for interpretation by the radiologist to aid in patient diagnosis. To provide all services necessary within the organization and Department of Radiology to ensure proper patient care while obtaining requested examinations.

The compensation range for the role is $48.27 - $54.86 hourly.
Garnet Health System provides a compensation range to comply with the New York State law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentives, differential pay, or other forms of compensation or benefits. When determining a team member’s compensation and/or rate, factors may include location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget, and internal equity.
Qualifications- Minimum Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Ultrasound Technology.
- Minimum Experience: 2-3 years of practical experience preferred. Successful departmental training.
- Required Certification/Registration: If hired before 01/01/2019, registered A.R.D.M.S. with an accepted credential in OB, AB, or RVT required by July 1, 2019. If hired after 01/01/2019, A.R.D.M.S. with an accepted credential in OB, AB, or RVT required at hire.
- Physical Requirements: Position requires lifting (50-75 lbs.), transferring and assisting patients. Occasional lifting/carrying up to 25 pounds. Occasional bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling, and reaching. 80% standing or walking, 20% sitting. Expressing or exchanging ideas by spoken word is required.
- Environmental Demands and Exposure to Hazards: Works in a clean, well-lit facility. No routine exposure to hazards. May have occasional exposure to blood, body substances, infectious materials, chemical hazards, vibration, radiation, slippery surfaces, or noise related to duties.
- Physical Demands: Demonstrates physical and functional ability to perform full range of motion to accomplish tasks. Visual and aural acuity and dexterity to operate equipment. Can withstand long periods of sitting, standing, and/or walking. Ability to lift 75 lbs.
- Mental Demands: Ability to foster collaborative relationships, work well under pressure, organize and synthesize new information, prioritize tasks, and multi-task. Requires detailed attention in an environment with interruptions. May be required to work evenings or weekends for events as necessary.
