Diagnostic Ultrasound Technician
We are currently seeking candidates for a Diagnostic Ultrasound Technician role with a well-established diagnostic radiology practice located on the Upper East Side of Manhattan
. The Diagnostic Ultrasound Technician will be responsible for independently operating ultrasound equipment, performing diagnostic examinations, and communicating results to physicians. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of diagnostic ultrasound experience and strong clinical judgement in a fast-paced outpatient setting. ARDMS registration preferred.
This is a full-time, permanent position paying between $45–$55/hour (depending on experience). This role supports an on-site work model, Monday–Friday (day shift).
Responsibilities- Perform clinical assessments and diagnostic ultrasound examinations as ordered by the attending physician.
- Independently operate ultrasound equipment while applying sound clinical judgement throughout examinations.
- Utilize cognitive sonography skills to identify, record, and adapt procedures based on anatomical and pathological findings.
- Accurately differentiate between normal and abnormal findings during examinations.
- Review ultrasound images, synthesize imaging results with patient history, and communicate findings to the appropriate physician.
- Ensure patient safety, comfort, and well-being during all procedures.
- Assist with daily operations of the Ultrasound Department, including quality assurance and reporting equipment issues.
- Establish and maintain professional, ethical working relationships with physicians, staff, hospitals, and referral partners.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- ARDMS registration preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of prior experience as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer / Ultrasound Technologist.
- Strong understanding of ultrasound procedures, protocols, and patient care standards.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with physicians and clinical staff.
- Strong organization, prioritization, and time management skills.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality patient care.
