Pharmacy Technician (Harris and Calicoon)
ResponsibilitiesA trained, supportive person who performs selected technical and non-technical functions, not requiring professional judgment, under the general direction of the Supervisor and under the immediate of a staff pharmacist. The Pharmacy Technician, under the direct supervision of the Pharmacy Manager or Registered Pharmacist, shall assist with routine pharmacy responsibilities. These include, preparing and distributing medications, maintaining inventory, preparing reports, managing automated systems, and maintaining records.
They work only under the supervision of a Registered Pharmacist. They do not perform duties that legally can only be performed by a registered pharmacist.

The compensation range for the role is:
for non- certified technician $17.94- $18.47 hourly
for Certified Technician: $20.18- $26.01 hourly

The range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits. QualificationsMinimum Education:
High school Diploma or equivalent is required. Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Minimum Experience:
- Demonstrates knowledge of mathematical skills that include the ability to perform complex weight and measure calculation, as well as the ability to perform percentages, division operations, and decimal point manipulations.
- General data entry skills as week as excellent written and verbal skills are a must.
- Experience in a health care environment preferred.
Required Certification/Registration:
Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification and NYS Pharmacy Technician licensed and registered, preferred the Technician does not possess their PTCB certification and NYS Pharmacy Technician license and registration upon hire, they must attain them within one (1) year of employment and maintain those items for the duration of their employment
Physical Requirements:
Position will primarily be light work requiring lifting up to 25 pounds with occasional lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Occasional bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling, and reaching are required. Requires long periods of standing or constant walking. Expressing or exchanging ideas by spoken word is required. Work week is variable.
- Environmental Demands and Exposure to Hazards: Works in a clean, well- lighted, heated or ventilated facility. No routine exposure to hazards. May have occasional exposure to blood, body substances, infectious materials, chemical hazards, vibration, radiation, slippery surfaces, or noise that may result from performance of duties.
