We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Prosthetic and Orthotic Technician to join our team. The Prosthetic and Orthotic Technician will be responsible for fabricating, repairing, and maintaining prosthetic and orthotic devices for patients with physical disabilities or injuries. This role requires a high level of technical skill and knowledge of materials and techniques used in the manufacturing of prosthetic and orthotic devices.
Key Responsibilities- Fabricate, repair, and maintain prosthetic and orthotic devices according to specifications and medical prescriptions.
- Assist with the design and selection of prosthetic and orthotic devices.
- Use specialized tools and equipment, such as lathes, saws, and grinders, to shape and mold materials such as plastics, metals, and carbon fiber.
- Conduct quality control checks on finished products to ensure that they meet the highest standards of safety and performance.
- Collaborate with practitioners to ensure that prosthetic and orthotic devices are tailored to the needs of each patient.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all patient-related activities and procedures.
- Stay current with industry developments, new materials, and manufacturing techniques to improve the quality of prosthetic and orthotic devices.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the field of prosthetics and orthotics.
- Certification from the American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics & Pedorthics (ABC) or Board of Certification/Accreditation (BOC) is preferred.
- Strong technical skills and knowledge of materials and techniques used in the manufacturing of prosthetic and orthotic devices.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
- Ability to communicate effectively with practitioners and other medical professionals.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and procedures.
- Strong commitment to patient care and safety.
