Laboratory Analyst; Chemistry

Overview

EMSL is currently seeking a Full Time Laboratory Analyst (Chemistry) in Carle Place, NY. No laboratory experience is required, just a desire to learn technical skills and become proficient in common laboratory practices and procedures. On-the-job training will be provided for all new employees.

• Preparation and digestion of environmental chemistry samples
• Preparation and analysis of samples using ICP and Flame AA
• Laboratory work environment requires care when handling acids, solvents, and other reagents
• Generate analytical reports and enter data into the LIMS system
• Clean, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment as needed
• Perform quality control practices per company Quality Assurance/Quality Control manual
• Administrative duties including sample login and data entry, scanning and emailing reports and answering phones
• Other responsibilities as deemed necessary by the manager

• Bachelor s Degree in Chemistry or related science required
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
• 0 to 1 years  experience working in a lab setting with FLAA and/or ICP is a plus but not required
• Ability to distinguish colors in order to perform analysis
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability and a positive attitude
• Effective time management, organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task and prioritize with minimal assistance

Position is full time, Tuesday to Saturday 12:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Training to start will be Monday to Friday 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Carle Place, NY are encouraged to apply.
