Location: New York

Overview

CTSI is looking for an Occupational Safety and Health Manager for our office in New York City. The ideal candidate must have experience in the development and implementation of safety and health programs, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with NYC and NY state regulations along with OSHA Federal standards and regulations. This person needs to have hands-on experience performing field work and must be OSHA 501 certified trainer.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement policies:
    This person will assist with the development, implementation and maintenance of health and safety policies and procedures for a variety of clients
  • Conduct risk assessments:
    Inspect facilities to identify potential hazards, conduct risk assessments, and develop corrective actions.
  • Provide training:
    The person must have proven experience as a hands-on trainer in various OSHA topics such as LOTO, Haz Com, PPE, fall protection, etc.
  • Manage reporting:
    Compile and submit accident, injury, and other required reports to regulatory agencies for a variety of different clients
  • Ensure legal compliance:
    This person must stay current with federal, state, and local laws and regulations to ensure that clients remain compliant. This will require the interpretation of OSHA, NFPA and other standards and the application in different types of industries.
Essential

Skills and Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree in occupational safety and health, engineering, or other related science and 3 years of relevant experience. OR
  • Bachelor's degree in occupational safety and health, engineering, or other related science with 1-2 years of relevant experience.
  • OSHA 501 certified instructor.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong understanding of risk assessments and data analysis.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms. The employee is also required to climb a ladder, carry equipment/tools while climbing the ladder, bend over, go into tight work areas/crawlspaces, and on many occasions work in overly hot or cold temperatures such as boiler/steam rooms, exterior areas, etc.

This position requires the ability to occasionally lift equipment and supplies, up to 30 pounds.

No relocation assistance. Candidate must live within the New York or New Jersey area. Part time position is also available to qualifying candidates.
