Patient Programs and Partnership Coordinator

Full-Time in office | Bone Marrow & Cancer Foundation (BMCF)

Overview

The Bone Marrow & Cancer Foundation is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Patient Program & Partnership Coordinator to support patients, caregivers, hospital partners, and Cancer Buddy initiatives. This role combines patient-facing support, partnership engagement, program management, and grant-related responsibilities. Ideal candidates will have strong communication skills, excellent follow-through, and a deep commitment to serving families facing cancer.

Key Responsibilities Patient & Caregiver Support
  • Respond to calls and emails from patients, caregivers, and medical providers with exceptional empathy and professionalism.
  • Provide guidance, resources, and program information to individuals navigating cancer diagnosis and treatment.
  • Coordinate all patient and hospital communication for BMCF patient programs.
  • Evaluate, approve, and process patient applications for BMCF financial assistance programs.
  • Manage patient tracking databases and ensure accurate, timely documentation.
  • Process and distribute patient materials and program packets.
Hospital, Provider & Partnership Engagement
  • Develop and maintain relationships with hospital social workers, nurse navigators, oncology providers, and administrators.
  • Promote BMCF patient programs and Cancer Buddy to medical professionals.
  • Support Cancer Buddy partnership outreach and onboarding for hospitals, nonprofits, and patient organizations.
  • Identify potential partnerships for patient programs
Cancer Buddy Responsibilities
  • Assist with Cancer Buddy Ambassador Program management, communication, and recruitment.
  • Support engagement with the Cancer Buddy Medical Board and identify new potential members.
  • Help manage in-app groups, Ava messages, nurse navigator engagement, and partnership content.
  • Contribute to user engagement strategies, content coordination, and outreach campaigns.
Conference & Outreach Support
  • Identify oncology, psychosocial care, and digital health conferences relevant to BMCF and Cancer Buddy.
  • Manage logistics, materials, and exhibit preparation for conference participation.
  • Represent the organization at conferences, meetings, and community events.
  • Assist with grant applications
    , including gathering data, drafting program language, and preparing supporting materials.
  • Collect and organize information needed for grant renewals, proposals, and mid-year/final reports.
  • Track patient program metrics required for grant-funded initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with grant deliverables, timelines, and documentation requirements.
  • Collaborate with leadership to identify new grant opportunities that align with patient programs and Cancer Buddy growth.
General Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively with the small team, bringing a proactive, positive attitude.
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold HIPAA standards.
  • Perform other duties as needed in support of BMCF and Cancer Buddy programs.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in administrative social work, Masters in Public Health, patient services, or a related field.
  • Strong writing, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and basic CRM or database systems.
  • Ability to confidently represent patient programs at external meetings and events.
  • Comfortable working in a small, mission-driven office environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master of Social Work or Masters in Public Health related graduate degree.
  • Experience in oncology
    , patient advocacy, or hospital social services.
  • Experience working with or reporting on grant-funded programs
    .
  • Familiarity with patient navigation, financial assistance programs, or nonprofit program management.
