Job Description

+ As a Pharmacy Technician, you will be responsible for picking, labeling, scanning, and preparing prescriptions for final verification by a pharmacist.

+ You will fill daily drug orders accurately and efficiently under the supervision of a pharmacist, assist in processing returned drugs, and recycle or dispose of them per procedure.

+ During low volume times, you will assist in prepacking frequently ordered medications, labeling, and storing them as needed.

Responsibilities

+ Package materials and products manually.

+ Pull and pick medications from shelving and other medication storage areas.

+ Apply labels to blister cards and scan products for accuracy checks.

+ Alert the pharmacist on duty of any medication or product that does not scan properly.

+ Maintain designated workstation areas and replenish all stock supplies needed.

+ Follow all applicable government regulations, including HIPAA.

+ Comply with departmental policies regarding safety, attendance, and dress code.

+ Work overtime, holidays, and weekends as required and/or expected.

Essential Skills

+ Pharmacy Technician certificate or license.

+

Experience with order entry and filling prescriptions.

+ Knowledge of labeling and retail pharmacy operations.

+ Inventory management and fulfillment skills.

+ Prior authorization experience.

Additional

Skills & Qualifications

+ High School diploma or equivalent.

+ 1+ year of Pharmacy Technician experience.

Work Environment

+ The night shift is from 4:30 PM to 1 AM, with every other weekend from 9 AM to 5:30 PM.

+ Weekdays have mandatory shifts from 8 AM to 4:30 PM, and every other weekend from 9 AM to 5:30 PM.

+ The role may require sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and walking intermittently during the day. The position may involve sitting or standing for seven to ten hours per day and might require extended hours as needed.

+ Finger dexterity is required to operate office equipment, and the ability to lift up to twenty-five pounds occasionally is necessary.

+ Visual acuity to see and read fine prints, close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus are essential.

+ The work environment characteristics are representative of those encountered while performing the essential functions of this role.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Vestal, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.
